Hana: Our First Project

Hana is our first love.
We named her Hana after Hana Highway in Maui, Hawaii! If you’ve been on that highway you’d know it’s an adventure. Like Hana Highway, the journey to remodel this wahine was filled with twists and turns! However I love a good design challenge and had a lot of fun making her beautiful, modern and functional. Learning about her we are hopeful to capture her essence of Hana.

Hana is a 2001 Fleetwood Wilderness travel trailer. Hana is 21’ feet long. Prior to us she only had one owner. This family took her out a handful of times but life happens and it hasn’t seen an adventure in a year. Joe went to see Hana on his own. I don’t particularly like surprises so coming home, I was really dying to know what he brought home. As I pulled the corner to our street, there she was on the driveway. My initial thought was: how old is this thing? There she was faded on the exterior and while clean on the inside, she was very dated. When I originally designed this trailer, I had one thing in mind. It needed a nice kitchen.

Ohana

MEANS FAMILY

Ohana was given to us by Gio and Kayla who are a family of four. Kayla grew up in Oregon and spent her childhood camping with her family. As she started to build her own family, Gio and Kayla wanted to make sure that their children knew that part of life. Ohana is a 2019 Forest River Wildwood xlight. Ohana is truly stunning. Her only flaw was that was head to toe brown. We were able to give Ohana a facelift. We customized many features of this RV including a custom build shiplap headboard, gave the kitch and bathroom fancy tile work and added fresh paint.

Meet Lokahi. Lokahi is a 2004 Gulf Stream Conquest Classic 6316 Class C. She represents balance, harmony and unity. Lokahi is inspired by Bre and Flow who decided to leave the comforts of 4 walls in their beautiful San Francisco home to join the full time #rvlife. Because they are full-timers, it was important to create a space for them where they can live, entertain, yoga, work and take on adventures. They really gave us a lot of room to be creative. Mahalo for trusting us!

Salty hair and sandy toes.

Kai was inspired by our love for the ocean.

Being on the island, our favorite adventure was all things ocean related. We spent many of our evenings and weekends in the ocean. You can find us surfing paddle boarding, body boarding, diving, fishing, boating, snorkeling and swimming. It’s not usual to be at the beach this often living in Hawaii.

This RV has touches all over that shows our love for the ocean. Since it is an ohana RV, we made sure to have something fun for the keikeis to enjoy.

Meet Ka Hekili. He is a 2016 Thor Four Wind 35sb. The name packs a strong punch! This Class C needs to withstand a lot as it it destine to spend the next 3 months on the road. The Phelp’s Ohana are seasonal full-timers. They spend their summers taking their kid’sonadventures. So with a name like Ka Hekili- it needs mana to take on this long journey ahead of them! As might as Ka Hekili is, he still needs pretty pillows. Did I mention there is an awesome bunkhouse?

There was not one space not touched on their Class C. The dinette above has the cushions reinforced to be stronger bc there were plans to put car seats on them during their journey. Karlee and I went to Los Angeles to pick out fabric. I was so excit…

There was not one space not touched on their Class C. The dinette above has the cushions reinforced to be stronger bc there were plans to put car seats on them during their journey. Karlee and I went to Los Angeles to pick out fabric. I was so excited about this one. The design is very subtle but close up, it’s beautiful! The table was custom to make the rest of the countertops in the RV. Below the cushions, Joe created draws to make this space more functional

Meet Pakalolo, a 1991 Yellowstone 28ft Class C Motorhome. Pakalolo is also infamously named Stoney, which came from the already placed 420 license placed and to mention it is a Yellowstone. I hope you folks get the reference.

This beauty came to us and I was EXCITED!! We have been wanting to do an older build especially a Class C. So when the opportunity came to give this bad boy a update. Challenge accepted! The theme for this build is Joshua Tree sunset and aztec inspired.

My favorite part of this build is the kitchen. I love the sunrise inspired backsplash with the custom butcher blocked made by Joe Pavsek.
